Waste recycling at SCP
Waste recycling is a major issue for the protection of the environment and the preservation of our resources.
Waste recycling is a major issue for the protection of the environment and the preservation of our resources. Since the decree of 10 March 2016 in France, waste sorting in companies is an obligation for all. In Germany, waste separation is also mandatory. SCP is aware of the importance of this issue and has put in place measures to develop the recycling of their waste.
In France, local service providers such as PAPREC ensure the collection, sorting and recycling of waste from our depots. Since the end of 2020, the agencies have contracted a waste sorting service in order to recycle recoverable waste: 4 streams, cardboard, plastic film, wood and metal, replacing the DIB (ordinary industrial waste) bins. 660 L rolling bins are used to collect non-recoverable waste. In addition, the partnership with PROXL allows ink cartridges to be recycled in the branch.
In Germany, SCP scrupulously applies the waste sorting regulations on their site. SCP France has also taken eco-responsible measures to develop the recycling of its equipment by establishing a contract with its partner Eco System, which works to repair, reuse, clean up and recycle electrical equipment, light bulbs and small fire extinguishers. Thus, by the end of 2022, all branches will have WEEE recovery bins for recycling electrical equipment.
The recycling of waste is a crucial issue for the protection of our environment. SCP France and Germany are aware of the importance of this issue and have put in place measures to develop the recycling of their waste. Thanks to these efforts, the agencies avoid the emission of significant amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, thus contributing to the protection of the environment. We hope that other companies will follow this example and adopt similar measures to increase waste recycling.
